in Last week's lesson, we made our final changes to the first draft of our Gannt Charts on Microsoft Project: which involved finalising estimated times and adding any milestones.
In tuesdays lesson, we did a collision and detection excersie in flash, that will help us when creating games for our story.
The exercise involved things such as adding sounds that will play at a certain instance, and creating actions and animation when a certian object moves.

Microsoft Project
In our last lesson before half term, we began using Microsoft project, to create Gantt charts for planning our multimedia project.
We learned how to structure the gantt chart, and how to use the apropriate features of microsoft project to make an effective plan. We had to think about time structure: how long it would/is taking to complete each different task, how often we work, both in and outside of school time and make sure each task is set out in order. As well as this, we had to make sure we included every part of the project in detail, within each section. E.G within the implementation section, would be creating buttons, creating layout, creating images, recording sound, making animation etc...
I now need to continue working on my gantt chart, and make sur eit isn detail, with as accurate a time structure as possible, as well as accurate dates, and making sure it is all in a correct order.

Self Assesment
I think my genral knowledge of ICT is quite good.
I have used photoshop quite alot, and know quite alot about the programme and the tools, and what kind of things it can be used for. When experimenting with something new on Photoshop, i usually pick it up quite fast, but more complicated techniques usually require some assitance. Therefore, I didn't have any particular problems when using Photo Shop during the lesson, and was able to move on to the more complicated exercise, instead of doing the simple exercise which I already knew how to do.
I have used Flash before Ms Parkes' lesson, and know how to use the timelines and a few of the tools, as well as make a basic animation, although I didn't know anything more complicated. Because i already knew these basic flash skills, I found it easy to complete the excercise in the lesson and I learned how to do scripting, which I picked up quite easily, and didn't have any problems with it.
I have used dreamweaver once before, but I didn't use it enough to pick up any skills and my knowledge of it is very limited. I have had no experience with Microsoft Project.

24th September- Photoshop
In our ICT lesson we learned how to manipulate images using Adobe Photoshop Elements.
This will be useful when creating the multimedia product, as I will need to create and edit images to use.

Planning Cycle
We learned about the planning cycle, by explaining a journey, and using key places and milestones, e.g. A place or street name, that could be recognised by someone following the directions.
We also had to consider things that could effect the plan, and what impact it will have on the whole situation, and possibilities that could resolve the problem.
